Technical hair lesson 1 notes

  • Three buns:
    • take four sections, backcomb at the roots, roll and pin them near the hairband, then spread out the sections and connect them with fine pins

    • twist whole ponytail, wrap around hairband and pin end against start of ponytail, pin any loose parts into place
    • plait whole ponytail and repeat as with twisted version

  • Three plaits:
    • Normal plait; three sections, cross right section to middle, then left section to middle, and continue

    • French plait; take three small sections at the root of the hair, cross right section to middle, then left, then before continuing with the right section again, add an extra section of hair from the scalp to it. Do the same on the left side.

    • Fishtail plait; take two sections of hair, take a small section from the back of the right section and cross it over, adding it to the back of the left section. Repeat from the left side to the right. Pull apart slightly one the plait is finished to create a messy look.

Evaluation:
I enjoyed this practical session and found it quite easy as I have practiced these hairstyles before, giving me a confidence boost. I am now looking forward to learning more challenging hairstyles.
